“The consequences for the labor market will be compared to the consequences of the industrial revolution. Artificial intelligence will get the job done, and that means two things. A lot of people will lose their jobs and a lot of people will have jobs that only people can do,” said Vallance, the government adviser.
He recalled that the industrial revolution, which began about 200 years ago, initially led to a decline in the economy, but then people were able to adapt to the new situation, and professions appeared that no one could have imagined before.
